  7. To connect to Outland, you need a direct or SLIP/PPP Internet connection using MacTCP. (For more info about the Internet, refer to the chapter "Internet Access" later on in this document.)

  9. After installing the Outland software, follow these steps to connect for the first time:

  11. 1.   If necessary, connect to the Internet using your SLIP/PPP dialer.
  12.  
  13. 2.  Open up Outland ﾆ’ and run the Outland Gateway. From the Settings menu,  select Outland TCP Tool from the Method popup menu.  Our host name is dover.outland.com, port 4000. (MacTCP 2.0.6+ is required for a reliable connection)

  15. 2.  Click on the Connect button and choose New User.

  17. 3.  If you agree to Outland's terms of service, follow the simple procedure for creating an Outland account.
